Frequently Asked
Questions
What we do might look simple from the outside, but there’s a lot more going on behind the scenes than most people realise.
We get asked the same questions regularly, so we’ve pulled the answers together here to save you time.
1
Can I have the RAW / unedited files?
Short answer: yes.
There is a $150 + GST fee, which covers the time required to prepare, upload, and manage the files via our cloud storage. You’ll have access to the files for 3 months, after which they’ll be removed from the cloud. (Don’t stress — we keep backups, so if you ever need them again, just reach out.)
Important note
We often find that people request “RAW” files expecting them to look close to a finished product. In reality, these files are captured in specific formats and colour profiles designed for maximum editing flexibility, not for direct viewing or use.
This means they may appear flat, washed out, or unfinished — which is completely normal.

The real value is in the edit. Anyone can record footage, but shaping it, refining it, and telling the story properly is where the difference is made — and that’s what you’re engaging us for.
2
Why can't you export the video with a well known song?
It comes down to music licensing.

Well-known songs are protected by copyright, which means we can’t legally export and deliver a finished video that includes commercial music unless the appropriate licensing has been purchased — and in most cases, that licensing isn’t transferable between platforms or users.

The good news
You can still use a well-known song.

If you’re uploading the video to a platform like Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok, those platforms provide their own licensed music libraries. Once you upload the video, you can add the song directly within the platform.

To make this seamless, we can:
-
Edit the video to match the timing, structure, and energy of the chosen song
-
Leave clear visual and pacing cues so the audio can be dropped in cleanly
We just ask that you let us know before we begin editing, as the structure and pacing of the edit is often built around the song choice. When you add the song on your end, make sure it’s synced correctly to the edit — that’s what ensures the final result lands exactly as intended.
3
You were at the event for two hours — why is the final video only a few minutes long?
Great question this one.... and really should be at number 1!

When we’re on-site, we’re capturing a lot of footage — multiple angles, moments, reactions, and coverage that gives us options in the edit. But the goal of the final video isn’t to show everything that happened — it’s to tell the story in the most engaging way possible.

Shorter videos:
-
Hold attention better
-
Are more effective on social platforms
-
Highlight the best moments without losing impact

Those few minutes you receive are a curated highlight, not a time-based summary. It’s the strongest moments, paced properly, and edited to create energy, flow, and emotion — not two hours of continuous footage.

Think of it this way: the time on-site is about capturing options.
The value is in selecting the right moments and shaping them into something people actually want to watch.

Why does it take 5 days before we get a video? It's just a 30 second clip!?
While the final video might only be 30 seconds long, there’s a fair bit that happens behind the scenes before it’s ready to deliver. That includes reviewing all footage, selecting the strongest moments, colour correction, sound balancing, pacing the edit properly, and exporting versions suited to different platforms.

We also don’t rush edits. A big part of what you’re paying for is judgement — knowing what to keep, what to cut, and how to shape the story so it lands properly. That process takes time, even for short-form content.

Our standard turnaround is up to 5 business days, which allows us to maintain quality and consistency across every project. In many cases, you’ll receive it sooner — but we never cut corners just to hit a faster deadline.
